The Conners is set to premiere in about a month, and the fans of Roseanne are still not sure how the story is going to continue without Roseanne Barr! More precisely, everyone is wondering how exactly they are writing her out.
It seems possible that her character is going to be killed off, but nothing has been confirmed.
That being said, Barr decided to spoil it for everybody by revealing what happens to her character.
Obviously, SPOILER ALERT!
While on Brandon Straka’s YouTube show Walk Away, the actress confirmed the speculations about her character dying and even revealed the cause of death!
‘Oh ya, they killed her. They have her die because of an opioid overdose,’ Roseanne Barr said.
It is not too surprising considering the fact that on the show, Rosie struggles with a pain pill addiction.
Despite promising husband Dan she would try and get clean, at the end of the episode, the audience finds out she still had a secret stash of pills.
Barr also revealed what she thinks about her character being killed off.
‘I wanted to show [opioid struggle] in the show. But I was not going to have Roseanne die of an opioid overdose. It is so cynical and horrible. She should’ve died as a hero or not at all …’
The actress went on to once again complain about getting fired for her racist tweet, saying that ‘It was not enough to [fire me], they had to so cruelly insult the people who loved the family and that show.’
After the scandal, Barr relinquished her creative rights to the show, and for the many fans, ABC decided to make a spin-off about the fictional family on the show, minus the former title character, of course.
