Happy Birthday to actress and activist Rosario Dawson. The outspoken beauty took to social media and posted an unconventional video of herself completely nude to commiserate her 39th birthday. Seems she’s exiting her 30s with a certain flare and free-spirited nature.

She posted another picture, completely nude, showcasing her impressively toned body to Instagram and captioned it “Reflections on not letting gravity bring me down…”
Dawson recently spoke out about her own encounters with sexual abuse and rape during a conversation that included the societal undercurrent that encompasses this specific #MeToo movement.
The actress revealed that she was just a child when she was both raped and molested. She says that when she grew up and got into the industry, it wasn’t surprising to her that this type of behavior was commonplace because she has seen it and been a victim of it when she was young.
Dawson says it was unsurprising that bosses, directors, film execs or costars acted inappropriately or disrespectfully to others. It wasn’t a shock to her because something like that happened to her by a person she trusted who was supposed to take care of her.
The ubiquitous nature of sexual abuse and harassment really knows no bounds and a conversation about how it exists in many areas continues to be had.
Dawson also suffered an unexpected heartache last year when she found her 26- year-old cousin Vaneza Ines Vasquez unresponsive in her home. Her cousin was pronouced dead at the hospital.
The actress says that event really gave her back her gratitude. It demanded that she take into account her life and the gifts she has been blessed with.
As she was grieving, she was grappling with the fact that she’d already lived 12 more years than her cousin would ever get, which meant she really had no time to waste.
No one really knows when their time has come.
She reckoned with that and made a point to acknowledge that she didn’t want to “be marinated in the upset” whenever her time was up.
Despite experiencing so many aspects of trauma, she makes it a point to focus on the love and the joy and the beauty this life has afforded her.
