Paula Patton‘s request for a temporary restraining order against Robin Thicke was approved on Thursday by an L.A. judge, after the 41-years old actress accused her ex-husband of drug and alcohol addiction, claiming that she doesn’t want him anymore near their 6-years old son, Julian.
Paula also asked in the restraining order request for Robin Thicke to stay away from her and her mother, Joyce Patton. She accuses the singer of physical and emotional abuse, infidelity, as well as drug and alcohol addiction, declaring that Robin could anytime injure her or their child.
Thicke’s lawyer, Angela Pierce di Donato, gave an immediate response, saying that the actress never mentioned domestic violence before this custody fight and that she also refused a drug test, when asked by the DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services). In addition to that, Mrs.Pierce di Donato suggested that infidelity doesn’t matter in a custody process and that Patton is only trying to damage her client’s image.
Paula submitted a pretty thick request, totaling 52 pages, mentioning several episodes that demonstrated Thicke’s inability to provide as a husband and father. In April 2013, for example, around their son’s third birthday, she kind of caught him relaxing a bit too much with a masseuse. Upset by the interruption, Robin broke down the locked door.
The actress also declared that her ex-husband invited his drug dealer to Julian’s 5th anniversary, calling this poor parenting judgement. According to Paula, the “Blurred Lines” singer admitted to her, during a marriage counseling session, that he had a drug and alcohol problem, and that’s why his behavior was so deviant.
On Thursday, the judge gave Paula Patton sole legal and physical custody of Julian until the next hearing, on February 24, while Robin Thicke gets to see his son three days a week, at a neutral location, but supervised.
