Robert Redford, 82, isn’t looking to be an actor for forever, at some point, he has to retire. While promoting his latest flick at the Toronto International Film Festival, The Old Man And The Gun, the legendary performer spoke on his decision to leave the industry for good.
Robert, during a chat with reporters from Variety, said that, while he’s not entirely sure if this latest film is the last one, he knows that it can’t go on for much longer.
“I can’t last forever,” Redford remarked. During the Telluride Film Festival in August, Redford said that it was about time he retired from Hollywood.
“I’ve been doing this since I was 21,” the Academy Award winner said, and he added that perhaps it may be better for him to call it quits on a high note, rather than dragging it on further.
According to the 82-year-old, he couldn’t think of a better movie to retire on than this latest film. At the beginning of August, Redford spoke with Entertainment Weekly and said that he would be hanging up his jersey permanently.
