The actor was not afraid to let his opinion of the current president known! As you may be aware by now, Robert De Niro’s speech about Donald Trump at the Tony Awards has gone viral, and many fellow stars have taken to social media to share their thoughts on it.
It all started when De Niro introduced a Bruce Springsteen performance at the awards show.
He took this opportunity to slam Trump and did not hold back at all, even going as far as to use NSFW language.
As a result, the 74-year-old’s words were censored on U.S. TV.
However, the Australian telecast was bleep-free.
‘First, I wanna say, ‘f**k Trump,’ the man started, causing many to cheer. ‘It’s no longer ‘Down with Trump,’ it’s ‘f**k Trump.’’
CBS News took to its official Twitter to explain: ‘Robert De Niro was bleeped twice during the Tony’s on Sunday night. What viewers at home did not hear, was that De Niro dropped two F-bombs while hurling insults at President Trump.’

Although many people in attendance at the Tony Awards showed support to De Niro, some celebrities took to Twitter to express their disapproval towards the man’s harsh words.
While on The View, Meghan McCain said: ‘When you are talking about how Trump’s degrading our national discourse with his language, this is not the way to combat Trump, it only helps him.’
She then added that De Niro’s comments were ‘gross.’
On the other hand, Mark Hamill made it very clear that he loved the speech.
‘How to get a STANDING OVATION at The Tonys? Give the people what they want…always a crowd pleaser!!! #SpeakingTruthToPower #TuckFrump,’ he tweeted.
Joss Whedon seemed to agree: ‘THIS IS HOW YOU TALK ABOUT FASCISTS. It is how you remind the country that the most corrupt, racist and traitorous government in America’s history is going down, hard, SOON. #F**kTrump.’
Kathy Griffin shared a pic of her and one of De Niro, writing: ‘The F**k Trump Club.’
Ted Nugent tweeted: ‘Damn shame Robert de Niro turned into such a hypocritical America hating drug-addled jerk.’
‘Ah, the tolerant Left. The article has a quote from some Broadway guy saying ‘Who’s gonna argue with De Niro?’ Ah, tens of millions, maybe. Just because he plays tough guys, does not make him one. So all the Socialist, Communist, Leftie supporters…,’ Kevin Sorbo also slammed the actor.
