Robert De Niro claims he is “offended” by the president of the United States of America, Donald Trump. During his appearence on the very first episode of Alec Baldwin’s new TV show, Robert said he didn’t like the Republicans very much either.
On ABC’s The Alec Baldwin Show, Robert spoke on the matter with the host and Academy Award winner. As fans of both of the Hollywood stars know, they don’t like Trump at all.
Robert has, on more than one occasion, used expletives to describe the president, saying things like, “f*ck Trump” and calling him a moron, among other remarks.
When Baldwin asked Robert why he chose to get so involved in politics in the last few years, De Niro stated, “I’m so offended by this person and by the Republicans in general, and how they’ve behaved.”
According to the legendary actor, 75, Trump is “projecting” whenever he mocks his political opponents and critics. De Niro believes that Trump secretly has low self-esteem, and projects it outward on other people.
Others have made similar statements, but not everyone is agreeing with what the two Hollywood celebrities have to say.
Karen Townsend, who writes for the Media Research Center, claimed De Niro is “suffering so greatly” from what she called, “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” that he feels the need to speak.
As it was previously reported, in June of this year, De Niro went into an anti-Trump rant when he was at the Tony Awards. In response, Trump said that De Niro was a “low IQ individual,” and that he likely took too many shots to the head during the course of his career.
Baldwin loves to slam the president as well, as he did so this past weekend during a fundraising dinner for the Democratic Party. Baldwin believes that the Trump government needs to be “overthrown,” but not in a violent way.
