The much-anticipated remake of the 1956 classic The Bad Seed airs on Lifetime TV tonight. Directed by Rob Lowe who also stars in the movie alongside McKenna Grace, who plays his disturbed daughter Emma, The Bad Seed is originally based on the eponymous William March novel about a young troubled girl whose parents learn is a psychopathic murderer. Lowe’s take is not a verbatim retelling of the original story, but a modern-updated version and how he as single dad David Grossman deals with the knowledge Emma is mentally unstable.
The original movie starred actress Patty McCormack as Rhoda Penmark. McCormack delivered a stunning performance and at the tender age of 12, she was nominated for a best-actress award and at 15 was the youngest to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In Rob Lowe’s The Bad Seed, Patty McCormack, the original Rhoda plays Emma’s psychologist. Rob Lowe is no stranger to starring in Lifetime movies and fans are sharing their excitement and anticipation for tonight’s remake of The Bad Seed.
