You may know already that Rita Ora’s brand new song featuring BeBe Rexha, Charli XCX, and Cardi B, titled Girls, was met with some backlash. That being said, it seems like the singer’s ex, Rob Kardashian has Ora’s back amid the scandal.
Rita Ora took to social media to explain the single today after getting a lot of hate for the controversial lyrics.
‘’Girls’ was written to just represent my truth and it is an accurate account of a real and honest experience in my life. I’ve had romantic relationships with women and men throughout my life, and this is my own journey. I’m sorry how I expressed myself in my song has hurt anyone,’ she tweeted.
Rob stumbled upon the statement, retweeted it and added six praise hands emojis to show his support.
Soon after, social media users started asking if the exes were talking nowadays, while others really wanted the twosome to stay away from each other.
Rob and Rita have quite the history together, complete with a dramatic breakup and everything!
While on The Breakfast Club in 2014, Rita stated: ‘I don’t want to talk about it too much as people move onward and upwards. But it was a just phase and moment in my life and now, onward and upwards.’
She also addressed Rob’s infamous tweet that might have been directed at her, saying: ‘I think people react to things differently and they like to express their feelings in different ways. I do not tend to use social media, so when the whole situation happened, silence is the biggest form of flattery for me, and I love to keep it moving unless I need to say something. Don’t get me wrong, he is a great dude.’
