Riverdale is upping the romance to new heights in Season 3. Riverdale star Vanessa Morgan just teased fans that the upcoming season will feature plenty of “hot and heavy” storylines — which is right up her character’s alley.
The actress opened up about Riverdale’s new season during the premiere of her new movie, Assassination Nation. Morgan, who portrays Toni Topaz on the show, revealed that the storyline is dark but also features a few steamy romances. This includes Toni’s juicy interactions with Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch), which has given them the shipper name #Choni.

“We had a kissing scene last episode that was great,” Morgan teased. “Yeah, we’re getting steamy!”
When it comes to Cheryl’s duties as a serpent, Morgan says that she is having no problems adjusting to her new role. According to ET Online, Morgan claims that Cheryl is fitting in nicely with the new group and is comfortable with the serpents.
Morgan did not say what eventually happens between Cheryl and Choni, but it sounds like things are going to get interesting this season.
The new season of Riverdale begins right where Season 2 left off: with Archie (KJ Apa) in jail. Morgan didn’t reveal much about the storyline this year, but she did say that things will not be resolved quickly.
Instead, the charges against Archie will help bring the characters together as they attempt to figure out a solution. In addition to Morgan’s revelations, The CW just released a slew of promotional photos that show Archie going to court.
Apart from the storyline, the upcoming season will introduce a few new faces to the show. This includes Kelly Ripa’s son, Michael, who is playing the younger version of Hiram Lodge. The older version is portrayed by Michael’s real-life father, Mark Consuelos.
Riverdale will kick off its new season Oct. 10 on The CW.
