Jughead’s sister and mom are coming to Riverdale in Season 3. During a panel at New York Comic Con over the weekend, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed they cast Trinity Likins as Jughead’s sister, Jellybean “JB” Jones, and Gina Gershon as his mom, Gladys Jones.
The Riverdale creator was joined by cast members Luke Perry, Madchen Amick, Lili Reinhart and KJ Apa for the panel. Gershon filmed a few scenes with Cole Sprouse (Jughead), Apa, and Skeet Ulrich (Jughead’s father) for Season 3, and Perry revealed she did just fine with the part.

“And Gina can handle all [of] them,” he explained. “She’s fun.”
Reinhart added that Gershon just joined the show and that her part is something entirely new. How Jughead’s mom meshes with Betty is yet to be determined, but we are pretty confident that the meeting is going to be a high stress situation.
That said, Reinhart assured fans that her character’s meeting with Jughead’s mom wasn’t that bad, so perhaps things are looking up for the high school sweethearts.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Gladys makes a living as the owner and operator of a junk yard that is also used as a compound for the Serpents. Gladys runs the chop shop with an iron fist and all of the Serpents listen to her every word whenever she gives an assignment.
When it comes to Jughead’s sister, Jellybean, the show describes her as a person who is mature for her age. Jellybean lives in Toledo with her mother and scams people for a living. She is also a huge fan of Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd, and it’s going to be great meeting her for the first time this season.
Season 3 of Riverdale is scheduled to return to The CW on Oct. 10. Gershon and Likins will not appear until Dec. 12.
