Rihanna is grieving the death of her cousin who was shot and murdered in Barbados the day after she spent Christmas with him. There is an active investigation into the shooting death of 21-year-old Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne. According to initial police reports, Alleyen was walking near his home in St. Michael at approximately 7 p.m. when a man came out of nowhere, fired a weapon at him multiple times, then fled the scene. At this point, a suspect in the shooting death has not been named. Rihanna has responded online with a heartfelt post expressing her dismay at how one moment she could be celebrating Christmas with her cousin, then the next day grieving his death.
Rihanna shared her deep sorrow for the loss of Tavon on her official Instagram account.
First, she shared several photos with Tavon and included a heartbreaking caption. She used the hashtag #endgunviolence.

In addition to the photos, Rihanna also shared a video of Tavon and other family members during happier times. Rihanna pointed out how frail life can be and no one ever knows the day or hour when those we love will be gone forever.
