In support of Colin Kaepernick, Rihanna has declined to perform at the Super Bowl LIII Halftime.
The NFL called on Maroon 5 to replace the diva, and now the pop band wants her to join them on stage.
Us Weekly reported that Rihanna is backing the former San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback who started kneeling or taken a knee during the national anthem at NFL games to protest against police brutality.
A source told Hollywood Life this about the Super Bowl LIII Halftime: “Adam and the band are not mad, sad or anything in between that Rihanna was asked to do the Super Bowl. Adam knows that she has been probably asked for years. And it doesn’t bruise his ego or the band’s ego because, at the end of the day, they are going to put on a great show themselves!”
The insider added: “They also hope she has her chance down the line to do it. And if she changes her stance this year, they would love her to join them to perform “If I Never See Your Face Again,” the song they recorded together.”
One fan said: “That’s my girl 🙌🏽!!! She likes basketball better anyways lol. The NFL don’t deserve to be blessed with Rihanna’s time. She’s actually one of the few celebs that use their platforms for good. From Snapchat to this! Go RiRi! Let her live she can do WTF she wants to do.”
Another commenter wrote: “She needs to stop playing and perform! I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a good halftime show. We get it RiRi; you support bro, now support your fans with a good show.okay! She a whole ambassador of a country now. Some people don’t realize it isn’t just about being seen; it’s about actually doing something.”
This third person claimed: “That’s a real woman right there. Not just for this but being a real woman lead to this too. Now THATS how you stand for something. Now get the rest of #blackexcellence together and host a concert on the same day and time! @badgalriri.”
