Real Housewives of New York star LuAnn de Lesseps just checked into rehab for a second time, but multiple sources are claiming that close friends held an unsuccessful intervention for the troubled star a few weeks ago before she left for treatment. Page Six is reporting that de Lesseps poorly received her friends’ attempt to get her help, and the intervention drove her farther away from her inner circle.
But apparently, her friends did some good because her co-star Bethenny Frankel announced this week that de Lesseps did finally agree to go to rehab a second time.
A friend of the former Countess says, “We’ve been worried that she was going to do some serious harm to herself.”

The past few months have been tough for de Lesseps. Police arrested her on Christmas Eve last year – then released her on her own recognizance – after she allegedly attacked a Palm Beach police officer. The reality star had entered the wrong room at the Colony Hotel and refused to leave, so hotel staff called the cops.
When they arrived, de Lesseps kicked an officer, slammed a door, and told the officers, “I’m going to kill you all.”
Prosecutors ended up charging de Lesseps with disorderly intoxication, battery on an officer, resisting arrest with violence, and threatening a public servant. At the time of the charges, de Lesseps pled not guilty, and in February she rejected a plea deal.
She also voluntarily entered treatment for alcohol abuse in January.
De Lesseps seemed to be doing well after leaving rehab. She started appearing in her hit cabaret show “The Countess and Friends,” and joined the RHONY cast for season ten. But, she recently made some erratic appearances in the Hamptons.
The reality star is also embroiled in another legal battle with her son, daughter, and ex-husband.

A Bravo spokesperson says that they support de Lesseps’ decision to get healthy, and since she is part of the Bravo family they will continue to stand by her as she deals with her challenging situation. They also asked for everyone to respect her privacy.
Executive producer Andy Cohen is also giving his love and support to de Lesseps, saying that when someone makes a decision to get healthy you have to get behind it.
Speaking on behalf of de Lesseps, Frankel said that her co-star made the decision to go back to rehab while friends who have her best interests at heart surrounded her. The SkinnyGirl mogul also revealed that LuAnn de Lesseps would not attend the upcoming reunion taping.
