D’Andra Simmons is back-peddling on statements she made about Brandi Redmond. After bashing Redmond for abusing drugs, the Real Housewives of Dallas star now claims that she was only joking and didn’t mean to say Redmond was addicted.
Simmons made headlines when she accused Redmond of taking too much Adderall. At the time of her initial comments, Simmons was talking about how her biggest fear in life is gaining weight.
Simmons admitted that she has always struggled with weight and that it was difficult being around her co-stars because they are so thin. She then made a joke about how they all take Adderall to keep the weight off.
In an interview with People, Simmons owned up to her mistake and confessed that she should not have made a generalization about people using drugs. “I did the wrong thing and I own up to it, so I apologized to her,” the RHOD star shared.
Simmons added that Redmond accepted her apology and the two have moved on.
While the ladies work through their issues, Redmond is enjoying her time with her newly adopted child. The RHOD star recently adopted a baby boy and opened up about how adopting has brought her closer to her biological parents.
Redmond grew up with an adopted younger sibling and never understood why her parents adopted when they already had three kids of their own. But after Redmond and her hubby, Bryan, welcomed baby Bruin Charles into their home, she finally understood that adoption is a huge gift.
Redmond’s other children, Brinkley and Brooklyn absolutely love their younger brother — but adjusting to another kid in the house hasn’t been easy. Redmond revealed that Brinkley had a difficult time dealing with the fact that she isn’t the baby anymore, while Brooklyn experienced a few hiccups when she learned her mom didn’t have as much time for her.
Fortunately, the girls eventually adjusted to the new way and life and couldn’t be happier about having a baby brother.
Brandi Redmond has not commented on Simmons’ drug use accusations. Based on what D’Andra Simmons said in the interview, it sounds like Redmond was not too offended by her comments, which is definitely a good thing moving forward. Whether or not it becomes a part of the show or not, of course, is yet to be seen.
New episodes of the Real Housewives of Dallas air Wednesday nights on Bravo.
