Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson has often had to defend her partners on the show over the years. And, on this week’s episode, she defended her current boyfriend, Steve Lodge, against a claim that he was only dating her for her money.
Gunvalson’s co-star Kelly Dodd isn’t the biggest fan of Lodge because he stayed close to her ex-husband Michael Dodd after their divorce, and he has talked negatively about her in the press. So, Dodd started asking questions about Lodge’s true intentions in his relationship with Gunvalson.

“Do you think that guy is hitting it and quitting it?” Dodd asked. “My friend was dating the girl that Steve was dating. He told the girlfriend that he’s only using Vicki for money. Swear to God. Dinero! Money talks and bulls— walks. In my book, Steve’s a bad guy. He’s hiding something. And everyone should know what kind of a person he is.”
Dodd didn’t say all of this directly to Gunvalson, but Tamra Judge heard the claims, and the next day she told the OG of the OC what Dodd had said. Gunvalson responded by saying “Of course” Dodd would say that. She then denied Dodd’s accusations and started screaming that Lodge has his own money. She also said “shame on” Dodd for talking about her relationship with Lodge, and it isn’t true that people are always after what she has. She added that she doesn’t have that much money anyway.
According to People Magazine, Gunvalson thinks Dodd said those things because she was looking for a way to hurt her, and she thinks she is jealous of their relationship. Gunvalson also said that Dodd “doesn’t give a rat’s a**” about her and Lodge, and she guarantees that Dodd wants their relationship to end because she doesn’t want anyone to be happy. “Miserable people like miserable people,” Gunvalson said.
Judge made her own accusation by saying that Gunvalson doesn’t love Lodge. And to prove her point, Judge talked about comments Gunvalson made when they were talking with Shannon Beador’s matchmaker. Judge recalled that Gunvalson said maybe she should see the matchmaker too.
But, Judge ended up apologizing on Twitter and wrote that she took back what she said, and Gunvalson does love Lodge.
The two did look in love while they celebrated Gunvalson’s birthday. She also talked about marriage and taking Lodge’s last name. Vicki Gunvalson also said that now that Lodge is in her life, she finally feels like she is at peace. She added that she doesn’t need a man for money, and Lodge doesn’t need her for money, either.
