Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador has repeatedly said that her husband has never laid a hand on her, but according to a 2003 protective court order against David Beador, the early days of their marriage may have been more turbulent than she has claimed. Is it possible that Beador is trapped inside an abusive marriage?
In the court order, obtained by Radar Online, prosecutors requested protection for Beador from her husband after police arrested him for assault and battery “against a cohabitant.” On May 1, 2003, Judge Munoz signed the order that stated David “must not annoy, harass, strike, threaten, sexually assault, batter, stalk, destroy personal property of, or otherwise disturb the peace of the protected person.”
David ended up taking a plea deal; and after three years and an informal probation period, prosecutors dismissed the charges and dropped the protective order.
In 2014, Shannon talked with Star about the incident and said that there was no abuse and it was just an argument that they quickly resolved. The mother of three says she called the cops so the fight would end.
Shannon Beador now says the couple is currently working on their marriage, but a source close to the couple says they are miserable and close to divorce.
According to the Daily Dish, Shannon is disappointed that during the current season of the Bravo reality show, she and her husband are not in the same place and extremely distant from each other. This comes just one year after the two renewed their vows in one of the top romantic RHOC moments ever.
Shannon reveals that fans have not been too supportive of her marriage, but they have shown empathy about her weight loss battle. The 53-year-old has been struggling to lose weight after gaining 40 pounds.
She says that it has been difficult for her to watch this season of the show, because of the many difficult moments with David. However, she has learned a lot about her relationship and herself. Shannon says she has to rely on herself for her happiness, and she can be positive and happy whether she is close to David or not.
The reality star claimed as recently as August that things are good between her and her husband, and they continue to share happy family photos of them and their three girls (Sophie, 16, Stella, 12 and Adeline, 12) on social media.
