Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador has gone through some difficult times since her split from her husband of 17 years, David Beador, last October. But she is getting through her sadness with the help of her daughters, friends, trainer, and a new boyfriend. Now, she is distancing herself from David even further by using her maiden name on Instagram.
According to OK! Magazine, Shannon looks to be in good spirits and upbeat lately since she has lost nearly fifty pounds and has enjoyed going out with friends. She recently took a trip to New York City to promote the latest RHOC season, and her new boyfriend Scot Matteson joined her.
During her trip, she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with co-star Tamra Judge, and Shannon said that she wasn’t dating anyone seriously. But, Judge quickly let everyone know that Shannon had a date that night, and Matteson was in the audience.
Over the weekend, Shannon shared pics of herself with her new man on Instagram, and the new couple wasn’t afraid to show some PDA. Matteson is a wealthy widower who has two kids – teen daughters Brooke and Brittany – and he is the co-founder and CEO of Centurion Partners, a real estate investment company.
He and Shannon spent a lot of time together in the Big Apple, including going to a rooftop party with friends and seeing the Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen.
Matteson also attended Shannon’s daughter Sophie’s 17th birthday party.
Shannon definitely looks like she is ready to move on from her failed marriage, and she even changed her name on her Instagram headline to Shannon Storms Beador. But, her handle remains @shannonbeador. It looks like she could be close to dropping David’s last name for good.
During her WWHL appearance, Shannon also talked about her split, and said: “there’s a lot of anger on one side.” The implication was that David wasn’t happy, but he has a new girlfriend, and Shannon’s daughters have already met her, but she hasn’t.
Insiders say that “Shannon has never been happier than she is right now.”
