Remy Ma revealed everything about her time in prison, including how supporting and loving Papoose was while she served her sentence! So sweet!
Watching the couple on Love and Hip Hop: New York, we already knew about their fantastic marriage.
But now, Remy opened up about how they handled their romance while she was behind bard from 2008 to 2014, proving just how #goals they are.
When asked about who was always there for her during those hard years, Remy said: ‘My husband, of course. I had to tell him to stop coming to visit me. The first year I was there he came every single day.’
Aside from Papoose, who she admitted, played the most significant part when it came to providing her with moral support in prison, Remy also mentioned her DJ.
‘Like my DJ who I just thought he was the guy that goes with me when I am performing. If I knew I needed something and my husband could not do it, he’d leave his job and come bring me whatever I needed. He kept the phone on for me to call. And that was just the way it was,’ she explained.
As fans may remember, back in 2008, Remy Ma was convicted of illegal weapon possession, assault and attempted coercion.
She and Papoose got married while she was in jail, and on August 1, 2014, she was released.
Still, despite the considerable support she had from her husband and DJ, she understandably felt alone a lot of the time but took that opportunity to look forward to her future.
And she definitely had a lot to learn about herself: ‘I was like a tree. My dead leaves and my broken branches had fallen off, and I’d just turned into a different person. I went to prison when I was 25, 26 years old. I came home in my early thirties, and it is a big difference. My son, who I had when I was a teen was seven-years-old (when I went to prison). I came home a week before he turned 14.’
