Reese Witherspoon is stoked that Legally Blonde 3 is on its way to the movie theaters, but she hasn’t revealed too much about it. Reese, in a conversation with reporters, said that, while she had a great meeting about the third installment of the franchise, she can’t tell us anything.
Reese said, “there might be some bending, (and) there might be some snapping,” in reference to the original movie. Hollywood hasn’t been kind to romantic comedies like Legally Blonde in the last few years.
However, Reese explained that she was pleased to hear that Netflix would be working on more rom-coms. According to the actress, rom-coms are a great style of the film, where people can watch the same movies repeatedly to find comfort in them.
Thus far, Reese hasn’t revealed a lot of information about her latest movie, but Legally Blonde 3 will be created through her production company, Hello Sunshine.
As you may know, Reese has been active in the Time’s Up initiative, an attempt to create an entertainment industry with gender equality; also, to fight against sexual harassment in the workplace. The organization also serves as a fund for those who need money to fight their abusers in a court of law.
Some of the original producers and writers are making their way back to the series, including the producer, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, as well as Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah.
Kirsten and Karen wrote the script for the first movie in 2001. Legally Blonde is one of the most iconic romantic comedies of all time, and it, including Pleasantville, made Witherspoon a massive star.
However, since then, her career hasn’t flourished in quite the same way, but she has appeared in a number of different acclaimed movies. From the period of 2007 until 2012, Reese saw a drop in her career, with the divorce of her husband playing a significant role in her “career-floundering.”
