The rapper, Nelly, had a tough Father’s Day when he took to social media to slam his dad and even refused to acknowledge him as his father. The rapper spoke with his dad on social media and explained that he didn’t like the way he had raised him.
Nelly expressed his anger and frustration, stating that his father never got the chance to see him graduate from school; they never played catch together, and they never engaged in activities that other children were fortunate enough to experience.
Just because it’s ya DNA DONT MAKE YOU A FATHER..!!! Mine never saw me play sports never taught me anything never saw me graduate and I still took care of him for almost 20 years he never to care of me for half that..!!!! And till this day he still does what ever he wants even tho I pay his bills .. “WELL USE TO” ..!!! That’s Over as of tonight ..!!!
The 43-year-old said on his Instagram that his father “never did what he had to do, only what he wanted.” The rapper confirmed he is no longer paying his bills either; those days are over.
However, whether the situation is sad or not, and whether his father is to blame, some on social media pointed out the immaturity of dealing with such issues at the age of 43.
Typically, a person gets over their “anti-mom-and-dad” phase when they’re in their early twenties, or possibly even in their late teens. But the rapper is apparently a late bloomer.
To be fair, however, Nelly’s last year hasn’t been the greatest, considering one woman accused him of raping her on a tour bus. But she later dropped the charges.
Her lawyer spoke with the media and explained it was truly a shame a woman couldn’t get justice, and it was a shame that over a dozen women have to accuse a powerful “celebrity” of a crime in order for the system to take it seriously.
Later on, the rapper explained he had intentions to counter-sue, but some think it would be pointless to sue someone who doesn’t even have enough money to take her alleged perpetrator to trial.
All that aside, at least Nelly had love for the women in his life, ironically. The rapper said he had a great relationship with his mom, and praised her for teaching him to play catch and spending time with him when he was a kid.
