According to reports, the rapper, Mac Miller, died at the age of 26 due to an overdose. On Friday, he was found at his home in San Fernando Valley, California, and the medical professionals pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office didn’t respond to a request for a statement and neither did the rapper’s representatives. As you may know, Mac has had a long history of substance abuse, and he overcame an addiction to promethazine in 2012.
In a 2016 documentary, the rapper talked about his problems in Stopped Making Excuses. The rapper said, “I get super f*cked up, still, all of the time,” but stated he was in “control of his life.”
As fans of the rapper know, Ariana Grande and Miller broke up previously in May. And following their separation, he was arrested for a DUI later in the month after he crashed his vehicle into a utility pole and fled the scene.
When the police pulled him over, they tested his BAC level and discovered that he was twice over the legal limit. On social media, Ariana insinuated that Miller was slowly becoming out of control due to his hard-partying lifestyle.
In an interview with Vulture, Mac talked about how he dealt with negative emotions. According to Miller, life is all about ups-and-downs, and he explained that he couldn’t imagine a state of being where he couldn’t feel depressed or great the following day.
Rolling Stone wrote in a review of his latest record that they could hear the “pain and perseverance.” He was supposed to begin a tour on the 27th of October, along with Thundercat and JID.
On Monday, Miller delivered one of his final performances in front of approximately 100 people at Hollywood’s Hotel Café. You can check out his last Instagram Story above.
