Joey Bada$$ is just one of many rappers to speak out against President of the United States, Donald Trump. In a report from BET, the publication claims that his album, All-Amerikkkan Badass, has pervasive anti-Trump themes.
However, now, Joey has regrets regarding his choice to condemn Donald Trump so vociferously. During a chat with the London Evening Standard, the “Devastated” rapper revealed he hasn’t changed his mind about Donald; he just wishes his fans would focus on something else.
He claimed, “Yes, there’s a f***ing polarized douchebag in the office right now, but he’s only making these problems worse,” but he is not the cause of the problem.
He continued saying “these problems” persisted during the Obama administration as well. According to the rapper, “Donald Trump is one of the many problems,” rather than all of them.
The rapper said he wished that he “didn’t even f***ing say his name” on his latest record because every interview centers around Trump.
Joey – who has been labeled by fans as a “political rapper,” a term he is not fond of – claimed he had begun the writing for his album long before Donald took office. The rapper said, “he’s not political” because he’s “not a politician” and isn’t trying to be.
He’s merely reflecting what he sees every day “on the ground” in his music. Furthermore, he has a “hard time accepting” the term “political music” because of the reasons listed above. Other rappers to openly condemn the POTUS include Eminem, who recently released a video of himself freestyling about Donald and his followers.
