Danielle Lombard intrigued the internet yesterday when she took to Reddit to apparently reveal some shocking secrets from Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor. One such reveal caught the show’s fans’ attention immediately as it was about Rachel Lindsay – who went on to have her own season on The Bachelorette, and Vanessa Grimaldy – Viall’s former fiancée.
It has been rumored for a long time that the two women feuded but the season showed little to no conflict between them.
In her AMA, Lombard told one user that Vanessa called Rachel a derogatory term.
Now, Lindsey decided to talk about Lombard’s claim and clear things up once and for all.
‘Being in the Bachelor mansion’s a true test of your character. It is a high-stress, low-sleep situation, and I learned all I needed to know about Vanessa during that time,’ Lindsay noted, adding that in order to avoid any drama she distanced herself from Vanessa.
However, she recalled how one time, Vanessa took her aside and accused her of using ‘aggressive tones’ when talking to her.
Lindsay was really upset by that statement as it reinforces one stereotype that African-American women are associated with.
But the ‘derogatory word’ was apparently ‘bully’ which although seems mild, and not derogatory at all, Lindsay did explain that it offended her.
After she talked to Vanessa and explained what bothered her in their work relationship, the woman allegedly refused to apologize and continued her conflict seeking.
That is when Lindsay asked the producers to keep Vanessa separate from her.
The footage of their fight never ended up airing, and Lindsay believes that maybe that was because the show doesn’t focus on drama as much as on the relationships.
