R. Kelly’s home in Atlanta and another space that he was renting there have been burglarized while the singer was on tour. Check out more details on what went down.
The Daily News reported that a woman who was hired by the singer to upkeep the mansion while he was away in New Orleans, told the cops that upon arriving at Kelly’s home on November 26, everything was gone.
The authorities also went to check another home that R. Kelly owns, and they noticed that it also got robbed.
Neighbors told the police that they remembered seeing the movers taking Kelly’s possessions and placing them in a truck. Police came to the residents the next day as well just to find the ‘movers’ at ‘work’ again.
The burglars were arrested on the spot. They told the cops that a man named Alfonso Walker informed them that the singer has to move his team and organization to Chicago.
Apparently, Walker performed some ‘odd jobs’ for R. Kelly according to the police.
The cops believe that Walker sold the items in Kelly’s house, ‘room by room’ to make a profit out of it. It has been reported that a man paid $6,000 for the items.
Captain Chris Byers believes that it’s impossible to assess the amount of all the lost items because of the size of the home.
‘There was a bunch of furniture and electronics stolen-a bunch of TVs. You’re talking a TV in every room of the house,’ he explained.
A warrant was issued for Walker on, ‘two counts of burglary, two counts of theft by taking and at least two counts of theft by deception.’ The local authorities are working on locating the missing possessions.
