Pink, who is supposed to deliver the performance of her life at the Super Bowl this year has been asked to lip-synch the national anthem after announcing she has the flu! But while she is really struggling health-wise and her voice will definitely have to suffer because of the illness, the singer refuses to ‘fake’ her once in a lifetime performance.
One insider explained that ‘Producers are trying to convince Pink to lip sync on Sunday for her Super Bowl performance — or at least sing along to a track of her voice. Her flu is not getting much better, and they want to have a fantastic anthem after everything that has been going on with the NFL and the ‘take a knee’ player protests. The producers’ concern’s that if she does not deliver it hard, it might look like she’s being disrespectful!’
That being said, the same insider informed us that Pink is set on ‘singing live, with no lip-synching whatsoever!’
And it’s not because she is uselessly stubborn or anything – in fact, she is just confident she can do it after so much vocal rest.
The star is determined ‘to give the performance of the life. She is a real artist and is not going to fake it!’
Pink is set to perform after the hugely anticipated game kicks off at 6:30 P.M. ET at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Yesterday, the woman took to social media to tell her followers all about her flu as well as about her dream of singing the national anthem at such a huge event.
‘Trying to practice the flu away. I have been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own it. And now, my chance has finally come. And it just so happens this chance comes when I have two small Petri dish kids who cough INTO MY MOUTH and rub their snot on my cheek.’
She went on: ‘I have arrived at another one of my dreams which is becoming a sort of nightmare. I’ll tell you, this is one of the biggest honors of my life, singing this song in front of my military family, my dad, and brother and stepmama and family and the entire world. And the EAGLES!?! I promise I’ll do my best, as I always do.’
We’re super nervous for her, but hopefully, everything will be fine!
