Earlier this year Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell claimed that the late royal had an affair with Canadian rock star Bryan Adams, and now it looks like her sons have confirmed the story. According to Radar Online, sources say that William and Harry were not happy that news of the affair went public, and they have contacted Adams’ people to let him know “he needs to keep his shut about their mother.”
Burrell revealed back in March that he used to sneak Adams into Kensington Palace to see Diana in the mid-1990s, and the Grammy winner couldn’t believe that William and Harry reacted so rudely about the rumors.
“Bryan was shocked they took it so personally but is telling friends that perhaps if their father was nicer to their mother while they were married, Diana wouldn’t have sought comfort from him in the first place,” says an insider.

There does appear to be some truth in the hookup story. In 1985, Adams released the song Diana that had lyrics about the princess driving him “wild,” saying he would die for her, that she was the “queen” of his dreams and questioning why she was with a guy like Prince Charles.
The story of Diana and Adams first leaked when Burrell dished to a co-star on Australia’s version of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Lisa Oldfield told a radio station that Burrell claimed he would sneak Adams into the palace in the trunk of his car.
But, this isn’t the first time rumors of a romance between the singer and the princess have emerged. Back in 2003, Adams’ longtime girlfriend – former Bond girl Cecilie Thomsen – said that the Summer of 69 singer cheated on her with Diana, and it led to the end of their 12-year relationship.
The Danish beauty claimed that she knew Adams had an affair with the princess, and he knew Burrell “very well.” She explained that Diana’s former butler was part of Adams’ inner circle and he introduced him to Diana.
Thomsen added that she did not get an invite the first time Adams met Diana, and the princess didn’t make her “stormy relationship” with Adams easier.
Since Diana’s death in 1997, Burrell has made a living off of telling her secrets. He has written several books and made multiple TV appearances, which has turned him into a bit of a celebrity on reality TV. In his book A Royal Duty, he claimed Diana had nine secret lovers, including a writer, a musician, a famous athlete, and a Hollywood star.
Prince William and Prince Harry have not publicly commented on the rumors surrounding his mother and the Canadian rocker.
