According to reports, Prince Harry asked Ed Sheeran to perform during the Royal Wedding this year in London. A source speaking with Us Weekly revealed the news.
The insider explained, “Harry actually asked Ed to come to the wedding and perform, but we’re not sure if he’ll do it. Ed will definitely make it to the ceremony, but he isn’t sure if he’ll perform.”
Sheeran, who is allegedly friends with Harry’s cousin, Princess Beatrice, said during an interview last year that he was open to the invitation. At the Buckingham Palace, he rhetorically asked, “Yeah, why not?”
As it was previously reported, Ed received the honor of Member Of The Order of the British Empire by Prince Charles, Harry’s father. Either way, Ed better make his choice soon, because Harry and Markle are in the middle of finalizing details for their marriage at the Windsor Castle.
On the 11th of February, the Kensington Palace revealed they would have the ceremony on the 19th of May at the St. George’s Chapel. Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, would officiate the nuptials.
Following the ceremony, Meghan and the Prince will take a carriage ride through the Windsor town. Although Sheeran hasn’t confirmed if he’ll perform, sources say he will at least sing during the reception, but maybe not during the wedding.
As you may know, Ellie Goulding performed at the reception of Princess William and Duchess Kate at the Buckingham Palace in April of 2011. Sources at the time said it “turned out great.”
Meghan left the show, Suits, last year following the news of her engagement to the British royal family member. Since then, their relationship has been the subject of constant discussion.
