After dating for a year, Prince Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle have made their first public appearance as a couple. The charismatic royal favorite walked hand in hand with the American actress at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada.
Much has been said about this twosome and their budding romance with whisperings of a possible engagement on the horizon. The two sat together and were all smiles as they watched the festivities. Some mild public displays of affection were caught on camera just days after Prince Harry gave positive opening remarks of the games by saying, “I bet the values by which service families live their lives and the example they set for others through these Games, is having a profound effect on their communities and far beyond.”
Prince Harry was joined by many other delegates from all over the world included Justin Trudeau and Melania Trump. The games are held as an event meant to inspire and promote international unity. It seems that despite some of the recent news regarding her husband’s negative remarks, other delegates and diplomats were cordial to Melania.
As far as couple debuts go, this one was picture perfect as Prince Harry still managed to do his royal duties but also took the time to be playful and interact with his lady love. As it has taken the two a year to go public with the relationship, all signs point to them being an incredibly serious item that may be heading down the alter sometimes soon.
Their relationship hasn’t been smooth sailing in the press as many in the UK have brought up the fact that Markle is biracial. Though she is racially ambiguous she is seen as a mixed woman with black ancestry. This threw purest into a tailspin saying that the Prince shouldn’t be involved with someone of a different race.
Harry and Meghan didn’t at all let that deter their love as they’ve continued to see each other and their bond has become even more ingrained and serious. Are we looking at the next official royal couple alongside William and Kate? Only time will tell.
