Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement last November, fans and the media have been talking about the couple having a baby. Even in their engagement interview, the topic came up, and Harry said that they would hopefully “start a family in the near future.” But now, it looks like the newlyweds might be putting off becoming parents for a little while, and they have a good reason.
Harry and Meghan will be taking a tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and the Kingdom of Tonga later this year, and insiders say that the couple will wait to until after trip before trying to start a family.
According to Marie Claire UK, a royal tour is enough of a challenge without the Duchess of Sussex having to deal with morning sickness and the dietary and nutritional requirements of a pregnancy.
However, royal expert Katie Nicholl says that we won’t have to wait long after the Duke and Duchess return from the trip before hearing a pregnancy announcement.
“My sources are saying that Prince Harry, particularly, is very keen to start a family, pretty soon after the royal wedding,’ Nicholl explained. “He’s made no secret about wanting children. I think that moment [for Harry] really kicked in when his brother, Prince William, of course, settled down with Kate Middleton. That has definitely gotten Prince Harry pretty broody.”
Nicholl also said that one of the biggest reasons Harry wanted Meghan to meet Prince George and Princess Charlotte was so she could see what he wanted for their future — children of their own.
Some fans were hoping that baby news would come sooner, especially after reports surfaced that Prince Harry had put his Audi RS6 Avant up for sale. There was speculation that the Prince was upgrading his sports car to a more family-friendly vehicle.
But, that doesn’t seem to be the case just yet. It looks like we will have to wait at least few more months before there is a baby Sussex on the way.
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are set to arrive in Australia in October for the Invictus Games, and a new report claims that the couple has found the perfect place to stay while they are down under. It looks like the honor will go to Villa Del Mare, which is a “multi-million-dollar luxury home” on Point Piper, located in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney.
The house has eight bedrooms and over 6,500 square feet, plus “breathtaking beachfront views.” In 2015, Lola Wang Li, who is married to a former exec in China’s renewable energy industry, bought the home for $41 million.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have not commented on the rumors surrounding their future family.
