Political sex scandals are nothing new and there is no party that is immune to allegations of sexual harassment, abuse, assault, and even rape. With the climate growing cold to sexual harassment in any form, men and women are coming forward to discuss situations they encountered where they were victimized by those in power. The office of the presidency is no exception. Allegations of sexual harassment have been levied against Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, and more.
Very few presidents have made it through office unscathed with reports or allegations of sexual abuse. Those who have included Presidents Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter.
One of the biggest mistakes is assuming that sexual harassment is dependent upon party lines, or using one president’s transactions as a way of demeaning a political party.
Allegations of sexual harassment and groping against President Donald Trump are no more indicative of the Republican mindset as allegations that Bill Clinton sexually harassed and assaulted female interns is representative of the Democratic party.
Sexual harassment, assault, and abuse are not limited to one political party. It is a global condition that occurs when humans use their power to control, demean, and debase others for their own sexual gratification.
News that President George H.W. Bush has been accused of sexual harassment now that he’s 93-years-old is causing mixed reactions. Some say that it’s never too late for those who have been victimized to speak up.
For the record, President Jimmy Carter is also 93-years-old and isn’t facing any allegations of sexual harassment.

President Donald Trump may have won the presidency, but allegations by multiple women accusing him of sexual harassment haven’t been resolved.
President Trump continues to deal with allegations and it is expected that he will one day face his accusers in a court of law.
Summer Zervos, a former contestant on the show The Apprentice has filed a defamation lawsuit against President Trump due to his denying her allegations of sexual harassment and groping. President Trump called her a liar and she is filing for defamation.
Gloria Allred represents Summer Zervos and released a statement regarding her client.
“Ms. Zervos was ambushed by Mr. Trump on more than one occasion. Mr. Trump suddenly, and without her consent, kissed her on her mouth repeatedly; he touched her breast, and he pressed his genitals up against her. Ms. Zervos never consented to any of this disgusting touching.”
