What’s better than one crazy talented powerhouse vocalist? Two. Adele who is a self-proclaimed Celine Dion fangirl visited the legendary singer backstage at one of her first show’s in Las Vegas after she was forced to cancel a series of shows due to health concerns.
Later on, Dion revealed that per her doctor’s orders she had no choice but to cancel those shows due to “congestion and irritation of the vocal chords due to a lingering cold.”
Apparently, the presence of the bubbly Adele has actually done some good in lifting Dion’s spirits as Dion was so elated to see the singer backstage before a concert. Adele wanted to show up for the legend and made a point to attend Dion’s returning show.
The two of them shared some laughs and funny faces backstage. Adele came to the show completely decked out in support of one of her idols. She donned a Titanic t-shirt with a picture of Celine at the center.
I had a pretty rough time during the last couple of weeks…a lot of people have been hit with cold and flu bugs… but I'm doing much better now. Wasn't able to do all my shows, but was thrilled that Adele came to one of them…. I love her so much!! 📸 : Cashman
Dion has felt really crumby for having to cancel so many shows and took to Twitter to offer her most sincere apologies. Obviously, with such bad cases of the illnesses going around this year and her powerful voice being shelved and put out of commission she was none too happy.
It’s nice to see a younger star that’s come up in the industry loving this veteran performer so much that she’s publically supportive of her through what seems to be a very tough time.
Adele also understands exactly what it’s like to get incredibly sick and have that fact invariably compromise her voice. Adele was having similar troubles with her voice just a year or so ago.
So much so that she opted to employ sign language to save herself from having to use her voice unnecessarily which would allow it to rest as needed to restore it to its former glory.
Either way, it’s great to see these singing queens come out in support of one another especially in times of difficulty and illness.
These two make timeless music that is instrumental to the emotional trajectory of so many people.
