There’s a new controversy brewing on Twitter after someone tweeted a comment disparaging Pink for her looks. Twitter user Huachinango Refrito @huachinago83 tweeted that Pink looks so old she should be called purple. The remark sparked conflict and Pink’s fans quickly rose to her defense. The comment drew 54 likes, but when Pink responded to it, the issue went viral.
It’s no surprise that Pink would respond to the comment. Throughout her career, she has been an example of breaking the mindsets and stereotypes society holds women too. As Pink grows older it appears that ageism will be the next battle she takes on.
This is the first time Pink, who is only 38-years-old has been publicly accused of being old. It didn’t take long for fans to point out that Pink is hardly old at 38-years-old and is one of the most groundbreaking musical artists in American history.
Pink tweeted a response to the poster and then followed it with one that is going viral. Pink clarified that it is a blessing to grow old and that each wrinkle holds meaning to a well-lived life.

I am of the mindset that it’s a blessing to grow old. That if your face has lines around your eyes and mouth it means you’ve laughed a lot. I pray I look older in 10 years, cause that will mean I’m alive. 🤙🏼

At 38-years-old, Pink is the mother of two children and performs daredevil stunts and aerial/acrobatic routines throughout her shows. If anything, she is showing how to age in a positive and healthy way and is already proving that she performs athletic routines above and beyond the average 38-year-old’s capability.
In Pink’s first response she pointed out that she has chosen to age naturally and has chosen not to use surgery or procedures to take years off her appearance. She turned the tables on the commenter and stated she hadn’t heard of that person before they began trolling her.
Pink stated she would refer to the person as a “little purple troll.”
Pink also pointed out that to age means you are alive and she hoped she would have even more laugh and smile lines ten years from now.
What do you think about the comment and the idea that Pink is too old? Do you agree with the tweet? What do you think about Pink’s response?
