Peter Dinklage along with his wife, Erica Schmidt, welcomed their second baby together into the world according to Us Weekly. The 42-year-old Elf star and his wife showed off her baby bump in March of this year when she walked with him on the red carpet before a play titled, All The Fine Boys, which Erica directed and wrote.
The couple – who manage to keep their relationship out of the public spotlight – did not confirm the news yet. However, fans saw them at a concert in September where she appeared to be pregnant.
Dinklage and Schmidt made their relationship official when they went to Las Vegas in 2005. The couple currently shares their 5-year-old daughter whom they welcomed back in 2011.
During the star’s speech for accepting an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series, the man gushed openly about his wife. During his testament, he proclaimed, “I love you, Erica. You’re amazing.”
Additionally, during the Golden Globes in 2012, the star opened up about trusting a babysitter with his daughter’s wellbeing for the first time. He claimed, “It’s all about the texting!”
Dinklage became a Hollywood star for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s fantasy, Game Of Thrones, which is an adaption of George R.R. Martin’s, A Song Of Ice And Fire series.
The series takes place in the fictional universe of Westeros and Essos, and it documents the power struggles among noble families as they battle to control the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms.
In May of 2009, casting directors made Peter one of the first actors to cement his position in the now, legendary series. At the time, Dinklage vehemently opposed the idea of playing an “elf,” or a “leprechaun” or any character that created a caricature involving his size. We send out our congratulations to the couple as they embark on their parenting journey!
