Ariana Grande’s new music video for Thank U, Next got a lot of praise from some of the people referenced and now, one source tells HollywoodLife that even her ex, Pete Davidson appreciated the shoutout – especially since it was so personal and purposeful. Here’s how the SNL star supposedly reacted to the clip!
As you know, as soon as the video dropped on November 30, fans freaked out over one specific part!
Ariana mentioned her former fiance in her own Mean Girls inspired burn book, saying she still has feelings for Pete.
One insider shared with the outlet that ‘Pete was truly moved by Ariana’s ‘Thank U Next’ music video. He found it very touching how she included a sweet and loving shoutout to him. Pete was not sure what to expect, but she is a total sweetheart so he was not bracing himself for anything nasty, but still, he was not expecting something quite so loving.’
‘The fact that Ariana drew a big heart around his name, and wrote ‘l luv you always’ and ‘Huuuge’ gives him some hope that they might still be able to work things out—which, is something that Pete would really love, with all of his heart,’ they added.
And that’s not all! The artist even apologized for the breakup during the clip and that really touched the comedian a well.
He allegedly appreciated that it was super subtle, to the point that most people would miss it.
Ariana wrote ‘Sry I dipped’ above Pete’s name and the insider close to the man claims it really made his heart skip a beat.
That being said, he is more determined than ever to rekindle their relationship since the feelings for her are still there.
