Perrie Edwards, member of the girl group Little Mix has recently revealed in the group’s new book called Our World that she was left with nowhere to go after her breakup with the former member of One Direction, Zayn Malik.
Although the breakup was nowhere near friendly it seems like after a year she was finally able to open up about what happened between the two. Considering that at the time Perrie and Zayn were living together in the boy’s mansion in London, the sudden breakup rendered her homeless. The 23 year old singer was touring in America when Zayn called off their engagement making her realize that she had nowhere to go once she returned to her home country.
In a haze at the sudden, unexpected turn in her relationship, she did not know what to do. She says that she soon realized it would be hard to rent anything because she owned pets and although her group mates invited her to come live with either of them, in reality, they did not have a lot of space.
Furthermore, Perrie says in the book that another reason for which she refused to come live with them was because at the time she was in a bad place because of her breakup and did not want to be an emotional burden.
Fortunately, her mother helped her find a solution. The woman contacted Perrie’s management and asked them to help find a place for her daughter if only for a while, until the singer would be able to find a stable and permanent new home.
Her salvation came in the form of Modest! Management’s owner, Richard Griffins who kindly allowed her to live in his guest cottage for as long as she needed.
All of Perrie’s belongings were removed from Zayn’s place and put into storage, and for almost two months, the girl lived in the cottage having with her only basic, necessary things that she could fit in a suitcase and, of course, her pets.
