Peggy Sulahian’s days on the Real Housewives of Orange County might be numbered. The reality newcomer has been embroiled in numerous scandals this season, including questions about her battle with cancer and the treatment of her gay brother. Will producers give Sulahian the boot after this season?
Bravo TV reports that Sulahian clarified her cancer drama in a recent interview with The Daily Dish. Although the RHOC star was super vague about her cancer diagnosis on the show, she confirmed that she did, in fact, have cancer. Sulahian claims that doctors found a small lump of cancer in her breast and that she was forced to undergo a double mastectomy to knock it out as quickly as possible.
As far as the miscommunication on the show is concerned, Sulahian says she was in denial because she was still processing the death of her father. The reality star confessed that she didn’t expect her fellow cast mates to barrage her with questions and only shared her cancer experience because she needed support. Looking back, Peggy Sulahian regrets having brought up the issue in front of the cameras, though she is thankful for all the fan support she has received on social media.
Sulahian had reconstructive surgery this past summer. The surgery has helped Sulahian deal with a number of different issues, but she isn’t quite over her cancer scare just yet. She is, however, starting to get her life back to normal and is looking forward to the day when all the cancer drama is a distant memory.
Unfortunately, the cancer scandal isn’t the only thing on Sulahian’s plate. According to Bravo TV, Sulahian is also battling rumors that she refused to invite her brother to her father’s funeral because of his sexual orientation. In an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Sulahian explained how she does not discriminate against gays and fully backs the LGBT community. She did not, however, go into details about her family drama and assured fans that it is a private matter.
New episodes of the Real Housewives of Orange County air Monday nights on Bravo.
