Paris Jackson issued a plea via social media that has been met with mixed response. The 19-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe asked people to stop editing her skin color when using her photos. She said that some people are lightening her skin to make her appear whiter while others are darkening it to give her more of a mixed race look.
She stated that she is finally happy with how she looks, and the remarks have left some of her fans a bit surprised. First, many didn’t realize that Paris Jackson had previously dealt with issues based on her skin tone. In another tweet that was in response to a commenter, Jackson shared that sometimes people tell her she doesn’t look “mixed” enough to be bi-racial.
Her point was easily received as there were many questioning if she truly was bi-racial in the comments. For the most part; however, the comments were supportive and suggested it’s time the media gets past race and follows the words of Michael Jackson himself who sang “It don’t matter if you’re black or white.”
At 19-years-old and standing 5’10, Paris Jackson is embarking upon a career as an actress and is signed with IMG models. She is well known for her beauty and fashion and many were outraged that anyone has made Paris feel less than perfect by their words or actions such as lightening or darkening her skin tone.
i appreciate everything y’all make for me, i enjoy every single edit i see. but please stop lightening my skin to make me look more white. and please stop darkening my skin to make me look more mixed. i am what i am. i’m aware of what i look like and i finally happy with it..

Paris Jackson appears in season 2 of the Fox series Star where she played Rachel. Her character was well received and critics gave her great reviews. She appears in the Amazon movie Gringo as Nelly and it appears her acting career is on the rise.
The tweet troubled many of Paris Jackson’s fans who were upset by the news that people aren’t accepting Paris Jackson for who she is, but are trying to turn her into someone else.
Many of Paris’ fans apologized on behalf of those who are focusing on race and skin color instead of Paris Jackson’s attributes and character.
Fans simply encouraged Paris to ignore those who are trying to change her and to recognize her own beauty and focus on her self-worth instead of what others are trying to do to her.
