On Friday, Ms. Paris Jackson went under the knife to eliminate an abscess on her body, and even though it was painful, she went up on stage the next day to perform with her brand new band, The Soundflowers. The 20-year-old fashion model said on her Instagram Saturday, “I had surgery yesterday.”
According to the daughter of the late King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, she had “an abscess that was almost the size of a golf ball.” Paris explained to her swath of fans that if an abscess erupts, it’s possible for one to “go septic and die.”
Paris, fortunately, didn’t die. Her doctors got to work immediately, and she didn’t have to worry. The US National Library of Medicine describes an abscess as a “pocket of puss” that can rear its ugly head nearly anywhere on the human body.
The medical professionals explained to her that she could’ve gone under anesthesia for the operation, but ultimately, she chose to do it while she was awake – a brave choice.
Paris said that it was easily “the most pain” she has ever endured in the entirety of her life. And that means a lot, considering her body is covered in tattoos.
Additionally, Paris explained what an honor it was to perform with her band at the Canyon Sessions, a fundraiser for the F*** Cancer organization. “And I’m so relieved that she didn’t hate it,” in reference to her grandmother, who actually showed up for the concert.
Katherine Jackson, 88, made her way to her granddaughter’s show, and on Paris’ Instagram, she said she was stoked for her to be there.
In other photos posted to the ‘Gram, Paris held her grandmother’s hand and kissed her cheek, pushing her forehead up against hers. As you may know, Paris and Katherine lost Joe Jackson, Katherine’s husband, due to pancreatic cancer, at age 89.
