As fans may be aware, Paris Hilton is part of Bert Marcus’ documentary titled The American Meme. The heiress opened up about her past scandal-turned-trauma like she has never done it before.
The woman talks about how she rose to fame through her reality TV show The Simple Life.
Another thing that seemed to get her to a celebrity status was her sex tape leak back in 2004.
But Paris explained that having those intimate moments shared with the whole world felt like ‘being raped.’
‘It felt like I had lost part of my soul and had been talked about in cruel and mean ways. I really wanted to die at some points. I was like, ‘I just do not want to live,’ because I thought everything was taken from me. I did not want to be known as that,’ Paris explains in the documentary.
The star also explained, in a panel after the screening, that she chose to be part of Marcus’ documentary because she wanted to show people a whole new side of her.
‘I felt like everyone was introduced to me through The Simple Life. There was no reality TV back then, so it was all very new. There was also no social media, so I pretty much created this character that was what I thought the audience wanted, like, ‘Oh, she is rich, so she needs to be a spoiled airhead’ – basically what the producers had told me to do,’ Paris confessed.
‘When Bert told me about this documentary, he said, ‘Paris, you are the O.G. of all this. I trusted him and was vulnerable about things I’d never spoken about before and just wanted to show the real me because I do not think that I have ever before.’
