The Top Chef is now 48 years old and full of positivity. On her birthday, Padma Lakshmi took to social media to share a very empowering message dedicated to all women.
She talked about aging and how she has managed to grow more and more confident as time went by.
‘It takes time to develop as a person,’ she reassured her followers who may be still struggling with self-confidence and finding their purpose or with the scary concept of aging.
She went on to explain that ‘In truth, I feel better about my body now, even after breastfeeding, gravity, etc. than I did in my 20s. I’m not riddled with insecurity anymore.’
The message was accompanied by a sexy pic of Lakshmi posing on a boat in a bathing suit.
The model made it very clear that Hollywood is probably to blame the most when it comes to women’s lack of self-confidence in their looks and appeal after a certain age.
Indeed, the industry is widely criticized for spreading unrealistic beauty standards, and for lack of representation in the form of racism or ageism, especially when it comes to women.
‘Sometimes in the entertainment industry, I do not think we give women a chance to mature.’
As they age, ‘Men become distinguished and women become ‘old news.’ I think aging is beautiful.’
‘Now in my 40s I eat well and really bust my butt in the gym. My home life and career are doing just fine, and I have learned to be thankful for what I have rather than focus on what I do not,’ she shared about her own life experience.
‘To many more years of learning and growing. #birthday #virgoseason,’ Lakshmi concluded her inspirational message.
