Outlander just finished filming one of the biggest scenes in Season 4. Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) have a lot on their plate next season as they attempt to start new lives in America, but watching Jamie reunite with his daughter, Brianna (Sophie Skelton), might take the cake.
According to IBT, executive producer Maril Davis just dropped a major hint about the reunion scene on social media. Davis tweeted a line from Diana Gabaldon’s book that marked the first time Jamie and Brianna bump into each other.
In the scene, Claire is not on hand to introduce the two and it takes a bit before Jamie catches on that Brianna is his daughter. Fortunately, it sounds like the series will use the same setup on the show.
“Since it’s Tuesday, how about another very special #HeardOnSet,” Davis shared on Twitter. “‘Sorry, lass, I’m a marrit man.’”
Last season, Claire left Brianna to reunite with Jamie. In Season 4, Brianna will make her way through the stones to find her parents. The line that Davis teased is exactly what Jamie tells Brianna in the books after he doesn’t recognize her as his daughter.
And suddenly it was all simple. He held out his arms to her. She stepped into them and found that she had been wrong; he was as big as she’d imagined—and his arms were as strong about her as she had ever dared to hope.#DrumsOfAutumn Chap. 41@SkeltonSophie @SamHeughan#Outlander pic.twitter.com/TzrHru1DWh

After he learns the truth, Bree drops the bombshell that she’s pregnant with Roger’s (Richard Rankin) baby.
Production for the new season of Outlander in currently in full swing in Scotland. The new season will follow Jamie and Claire as they embark on new adventures in America. Filming is expected to continue for a few months, which means Droughtlander is not going to ease up anytime soon. Starz has not announced an official premiere date for the new season, but Outlander is expected to premiere sometime in the fall.
Prior to Davis’ big reveal on Twitter, Heughan and other members of the cast and crew sat down for a special panel and talked about what’s ahead. In speaking about the direction of the series, executive producer Ronald D. Moore explained how Season 3 was a transitional year for Jamie and Claire.
Season 4, on the other hand, will see the couple finally settling down and creating a home for themselves in the New World.
Apart from Jamie and Brianna’s reunion, fans will watch as Jamie and Claire navigate through challenging political waters in America. Not only are they dealing with the realities of slavery in the American colonies, but they will eventually come face to face with the beginning of the American Revolution.
Because they are in a tumultuous place and time, Balfe revealed that Claire isn’t happy about Brianna walking through the stones. Although she was unhappy about leaving Brianna behind, she’d rather see her daughter living the rest of her days in a stable environment.
As far as other characters are concerned, Moore teased that we might see more of Frank (Tobias Menzies) and Laoghaire (Nell Rose Hudson), whether that happens in Season 4 of Outlander remains to be seen.
