Apologies to Outlander stars but you have to know that fans are always on the lookout for a quick picture or autograph, even if it’s after a cold day of filming. Production for Season 4 of Outlander is still underway and a few lucky fans caught a glimpse of Caitriona Balfe and Richard Rankin on the set near Glasgow, Scotland.
Several videos of the Outlander cast and crew have surfaced online, including a few clips of Balfe on a lunch break and Rankin sporting a knit hat. Although the Outlander stars look miserable out in the elements, they were gracious enough to smile for the cameras and sign a few autographs.

The upcoming season of Outlander is based on Diana Gabaldon’s fourth book in the series, titled Drums of Autumn, which features Jamie and Claire setting up new lives in America.
In addition to the cast sightings, fans captured glimpses of the set before they were torn down, including a sign for Mrs. Baird’s Bed & Breakfast and an early look at Fraser’s Ridge.

Starz has not announced its plans for any seasons beyond the fourth, though it is very likely that the series will get renewed for at least two more seasons.
Outlander left off with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Balfe) being washed up on shore in North America. The upcoming season will focus on the couple’s journey in the New World, but it will also feature a few familiar faces from the past three seasons.
This includes Jocasta, Jamie’s Aunt, who fled Scotland with a bunch of gold and is currently residing on a plantation in North Carolina. We’ll also get to see more of Jamie and Claire’s daughter, Brianna, who said goodbye to Claire last season.
Will Brianna travel back in time to find her mother?

Although we’ll see some old characters return, there will be a slew of new faces in Season 4, including a new hunk on the set. Craig McGinlay was cast for the role of Andrew MacNeil this season and he’s already catching a lot of attention for his good looks and trim body.
MacNeil is a plantation owner who helps Jamie and Claire with the ins and outs of colonial life. He is also a prominent member of the Scottish community in Cape Fear and will play an important role moving forward.

Fans will also see a new villain surface now that Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) is finally dead. It’s still too early to tell who will emerge as the show’s main antagonist in Season 4, but smuggler turned pirate Stephen Bonnet certainly fits the bill. Bonnet is played by Ed Speelers, who is best known for his part in Downton Abbey.
Season 4 of Outlander is expected to premiere this coming fall on Starz.
