The cast and crew of Outlander are getting ready to wrap up filming for Season 4 and new photos from the set offered fans a sneak peek at what’s ahead. The pictures reveal that we will see Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) establishing what will eventually become Fraser’s Ridge in the upcoming season.
The leaked photos show a cabin in the woods that was specifically built for Season 4. Members of the crew established a perimeter around the small house to ensure production went smoothly without interruption. In the books, Fraser’s Ridge is located in South Carolina and becomes an important base of operations for Jamie and Claire as they setup new lives in the American colonies.
In the fourth book of Diana Gabaldon’s hit series, Drums of Autumn, Jamie begins the process of purchasing the land that will become Fraser’s Ridge. According to International Business Times, Jamie builds a cabin on the land where he and Claire live with the rest of their family. We don’t know when the important location will be featured next season, but it’s good to see what it will look like.

Sadly, no cast members were featured in any of the photos of Fraser’s Ridge. At the time the photographs were taken, the majority of the cast were busy filming in other locations. Heughan and Balfe, meanwhile, are currently filming the final scenes of Season 4, which means production will wrap up fairly quickly. Whether or not the last bit of filming is taking place at Fraser’s Ridge is not clear.
Season 4 of Outlander picks up with Jamie and Claire establishing new lives for themselves in the American colonies. With the setting shifting to the New World, fans can expect to see a few new faces next season.

In fact, there will be at least five fresh characters introduced in Season 4, including Lizzie Wemyss (Caitlin O’Ryan), Gerald Forbes (Billy Boyd), Phaedre (Natalie Simpson), Governor William Tryon (Tim Downie), and Gayle (Simona Brown). All five of these characters will play important roles in the upcoming season as Jamie and Claire start their newest chapter together.
Starz has not announced an official premiere date for Season 4 of Outlander, but it is expected to air later this year. The network recently confirmed its plans to greenlight Season 5 and 6 of Outlander, though these won’t come out until after an extended hiatus.
