A woman named, Donzaleigh Abernathy, is reportedly suing the director and filmmaker, Omar Epps, as well as Paramount Pictures, for negligence and recklessness following an altercation which broke her arm. The publication, TMZ, reported that while on the set of “Shooter,” Epps “deviated” from the plan and busted her limb with an unexpected move.
Additionally, Abernathy claims Epps injured her spine when he dropped her on the ground. The actress – who was 59-years-old at the time – ended up in a hospital because of the incident.
According to reports, Abernathy played the mother of Bob Lee’s best friend, Donny Fenn, in the first season of the series distributed by USA Network.
Later in the show, Fenn is murdered by Issac Johnson who is portrayed by Omar Epps. Despite the news, Omar nor the studio have publicly addressed the charges.
Sources close to the woman stated, “she is extremely upset about what happened and merely wants to be paid for her medical bills, which are growing larger all of the time.”
“It seems incredibly unfair that she was hurt on set. There is no reason for that.” This won’t be the first time someone has been hurt while filming the drama series starring Ryan Phillipe.
In a report from The Daily Mail, Tom Sizemore found himself in trouble after allegedly injuring a stuntman when he drove over him in reverse while operating an SUV. Epps was in the passenger seat at the time of the incident.
Is it possible the cast and crew of “Shooter” are cursed? It appears as though the production of team of “Shooter” are plagued by controversy and misfortune, as the lead, Ryan Phillipe, is also dealing with a domestic violence lawsuit brought forth by his Instagram model ex-girlfriend.
