Whatever you do, do not confuse Olivia Wilde with Melania Trump, who is set to assume the role of first lady of the United States in January. Mrs. Trump will be a hands-off first lady; she will stay in New York as her stepdaughter, Ivanka Trump, takes on the role of co-president. In a post that has gone viral, Miss Wilde has revealed that she has taken some drastic steps not to be mistaken for Mrs. Trump.
In a series of photos posted on Instagram, the mother of two explained that she took a trip to a high-end hair salon in Hollywood and demanded a new haircut and hair color to no longer look like the former model. It is not known if people confused the two ladies at a red carpet event or in the streets.
She shared a few pictures with hairstylist Harry Josh giving her a new hairdo with the following caption: “Feelin myself apparently. Thanks to the master @harryjoshhair for the chop. #nomoremelaniahair.”
While physically there might be a slight resemblance between Trump and “The Longest Week” actress, they could not be more different on political and social issues. Wilde, who could be considered as a die-hard liberal, campaigned for Barack Obama in 2008 and backs the right for farm workers to be represented by unions.
She is an activist, who believes in women’s issues regarding education, health, and justice. As for Mrs. Trump well – she is the wife of Donald Trump, known for making anti-Muslims, immigrants statements, and degrading comments about women.
Mrs. Trump never really pushed back against her husband’s eye-popping remarks. During the election, Wilde, who is engaged to comedian Jason Sudeikis, took several shots at Mr. Trump by calling him out for the “build a wall” comment. She said: “It made me think of the current refugee crisis. [America] was a beacon of hope for so many…yet some in this country have developed this xenophobia that totally conflicts with what we’re based on.”
She also appeared in videos released by a pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC. Wilde revealed to the world that she was expecting a baby girl in September in an anti-Trump tweet, which read: “As someone who is about to have a daughter, this hits me deep in my core, #NeverTrump.”
She was particularly angry after the 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape where Trump said he could grab women by their genitals surfaced. The movie star called the video sickening.
