Hollywood celebs came out in support for the girlfriend of the late, Anthony Bourdain, who killed himself by hanging back in June. While most would assume people online would be nice to Asia following her loss, some were not so kind.
Trolls online attacked her, insinuating that she may have had something to do with his death. In a letter written to the Los Angeles Times, the authors ask for the respect of Asia, who is suffering the same as Bourdain’s fans, his friends, and his family.
Forty-five people signed the document in support of Argento, 42.
Some have pointed to Argento, as the reason for Anthony’s untimely death, and the letter expressly argued against that. The letter states that Asia has found herself “on the receiving end of vicious cyber-bullying,” as well as “repulsive slander” – something they vehemently condemn.
Other social media critics even accused her of using the #MeToo movement as a means of “advancing her career,” the joint letter explained.

The op-ed defended Asia as a person, just like everyone else, and not just as a headline. It would be best for grieving fans out there to find another outlet for their pain and suffering, rather than taking to social media to blame Asia.
Some of the names listed in the letter included Terry Crews, Olivia Munn, Rose McGowan, Mira Sorvino, and many others. As it was previously reported, Bourdain died on the 8th of June, and Argento – like many others – wrote a heartfelt letter in his honor.
In an Instagram post, Argento said that Anthony “gave all of himself” in nearly everything he did, unwaveringly.
Asia and the Part’s Unknown host started dating back in 2017, and she collaborated on his show on CNN. Bourdain was found dead by his friend in France while filming the newest episode of the series.
