He swallowed his pride! Following his unexpected passing, we hear that O.J. Simpson contacted the close ones of his former friend-turned-enemy Tom Scotto.
According to Scotto’s first wife Maria, the controversial ex-NFL star reached out to the man’s family to not only ‘express his condolences’ but also apologize for not being able to attend the funeral.
‘I do not think O.J.’s going to be able to make the funeral because of his parole issues,’ she said.
As you may remember, O.J. was released from prison after serving nine years for armed robbery charges back on October 1.
As for whether or not he would be able to attend the services this weekend as far as the late man’s family is concerned, Maria said: ‘Yes, of course, he’s welcome.’
Scotto, O.J.’s longtime defender, and confidante passed away suddenly at the age of only 56 on Wednesday in a hospital.
The cause of death was a respiratory ailment.
Scott apparently had offered O.J. the possibility to live in his Naples home following his release from jail.
However, they had a huge fall-out when it was reported that, despite being the best man at Scotto’s wedding with his second wife, the disgraced NFL player slept with her!
The huge scandal resulted in their divorce, and at the moment, the woman is living in Brazil along with the broken up pair’s daughter.
‘Tom Scotto died of the broken heart because O.J. slept with the man’s wife!’ one insider claimed.
The wake for Scotto is set to take place tomorrow, March 24 at the Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens.
The following day, on Sunday, he is going to be buried, but it looks like O.J. is shamelessly not planning on attending either day.
