Miley Cyrus’ 18-year-old sister gave an interview to ET today, and she opened up about her nasty and very public break up from rapper Lil Xan. Noah also promoted her brand new EP titled Good Cry, set to be dropped this Friday and revealed that she’s been focusing on her music after the split.
About her new music being released, she gushed: ‘I am so stoked! I am super happy. I wrote an entire album a year ago, and life kind of smacked me in the face a bit and I rewrote a ton of stuff and made this EP as a side thing. I realized that this type of music is the music I want to be making. I just rolled with it.’
She went on: ‘I’m beyond excited. It is hard to explain because it has been, like, two years of, ‘OK, we are going to put an album out!’ But then we did not put the album out, because I was not ready. I had nothing to talk about until I really, like, lived.’
Noah explained that she has learned a lot about love and relationships in the last two years and that will show a lot in her music.
‘That’s what inspired the record. Every song was from my heart, about this relationship and the way I was feeling,’ the teen admitted, referring to her failed romance with Lil Xan.
She added that: ‘I didn’t know how to communicate in any other way than my music. Some of the songs I’d send to my boyfriend at the time and be like, ‘I do not know how else to talk to you, here’s this song.’ So, the record is really personal.’
And because ‘it’s all honest’ Noah is not at all worried about how her new music will be received by the public but still hopes people will be able to find themselves and their experiences in her lyrics.
‘I’m just talking about the way I’m feeling and what I am going through. But I know that a lot of people, from talking with my fans on Instagram, we DM a lot… I know they will be able to relate to this a lot. Because a lot of my fans are young and going through their first love.’
As for the breakup, Noah remained very positive, assuring her fans that ‘It’s all love and it’s all good.’
She did admit however that she is ‘confused’ and that it was ‘a shock’ for her as much as it was for everyone else.
But because she has some new exciting music ready to drop, Noah doesn’t see any point for ‘drama’ anymore.
‘I just got to focus on me right now, and I do not really need to have a boyfriend at this time anyway. I realized that when everything blew up in my face. … You do not need a man to make you happy so, that is for all of you girls out there… except for your dads! Dads are the best!
