Actor and WWE star John Cena and his fiancée, Total Bellas star Nikki Bella, have called off their engagement just weeks before their destination wedding. After getting engaged live on TV during a couple’s match last April, they have decided to call it quits, and a source says that Cena should have never proposed.
Bella took to social media with a statement about the end of their relationship.
Cena and Bella were together for six years, and they had scheduled their wedding for May 5th in Mexico, so she could celebrate her heritage with family and friends. And, while promoting his new movie Blockers, Cena said that he already felt married to his fellow wrestler. He says people are always coming up to him and saying how they love to watch his wife on television, and that happens ten times before anyone says that they love his work.
He also said that he wished the two had tied the knot “yesterday.” The 40-year-old added that he knew he and Bella had a wonderful future together because he liked the way it sounds when fans called her his wife.
But, it apparently wasn’t meant to be, and Bella is reportedly heartbroken because of the sudden split.
In the past, Cena had said that he didn’t want to get married again after his three-year marriage to Elizabeth Huberdeau ended in 2012. But, he still ended up getting down on one knee and proposing to Bella.
Sources say that Cena started to get cold feet the closer they got to their wedding day. And even though he talked a good game about changing his mind on the topic of getting married again, he went back to how he has always been – which is someone who always puts himself first.
Cena is an ambitious, dedicated, and driven guy, and for a long time, he said he didn’t have room in his life for a wife and kids. And, at the end of the day, that still seems to be the truth.
Insiders say that John Cena should have never proposed to Nikki Bella, especially in front of millions of people, and he has ruined what was supposed to be the happiest time in the 34-year-old’s life.
