Niecy Nash, star of The Claws, took to her social media recently to accuse a host of a major event of ostracizing and discriminating against her due to her skin color. In fact, the star claims she was disinvited because of self-evident racial bias.
In a couple of tweets, The Claws alum said she was invited to the annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in LA by Ashlee Margolis, who is known for hosting events for huge brands.
However, on the day of the event, she claims, the host pulled back her invitation. She wrote on her Twitter account that it was rescinded because I was the “wrong caliber of guest.”
Moreover, she claims she won’t be supporting the Veuve Clicquot brand due to the incident, adding that she wouldn’t go to it even if they paid her to show up.
“Wait, you wouldn’t. I’m not white.” However, she later deleted her tweets, probably because she realized she was disinvited for a different reason.
The Jasmine Brand noted that there were plenty of other women of color at the event including Rosario Dawson, Harold Perrineau, and the former chief brand officer of Uber, Bozoma Saint John.
Due to the other people at the party, one can only infer that Nash jumped the gun by pulling the race card. While racism is alive and well all over the world, it looks like Nash was wrong on this one.
Rapper, Desiigner, also made similar accusations last week when he was banned from a Scandinavian airline last week due to his alleged aggression to a flight attendant on board. The organization released a statement the following day saying that the rapper became confrontational, so they had no choice but to remove him due to a zero-tolerance policy.
